Examples Of What A Standard Galvanized Product Will Look Like.

  • The Architect Of The Project Should Note That These Differences Are Not A Cause For Rejection Or Needing "Corrective Actions". But This Should Be Expected.
  • If The Architect Desires A More Finished Or Consistant Finish, That Should Be Noted On The Contract Documents At Time Of Bidding.
  • Something That Is Not Shown, The Materials Can Warp And More Than Likely Be Distored Due To The
Galvanizing Process. So There Could Be Possible Additional Work To Resolve This Issue.
  • If The Finished Product Is Going To Be Painted, The "Quenching" Process Should Be Skipped. While This Does Not Hurt The Coating Strength, It Will Help The Paint To Stick Better. The Painter Will Still Need To Do His Standard Surface Prep.
Galvanizer Touched Up After Removal From The Tank. Discoloration & Rough To The Touch. But this is a standard "repair" per the AGA Standards.
Welds Collect Galvanizing & Therefore Can Have A Buildup As Shown Here.
Top Of The Stringer Shows Another Example Of Discoloration. The Finished Product Can Have Multiple Visual Differences Within A Short Distance. This Is Normal & To Be Expected.
Good Example Of Finish Variations. The Corner Post Has A More "Shiny" Finish Than The Horizontal Tube On The Left. These Differences Are Normal & Not A Cause For Rejection. This Is To Be Expected.
Color Variations & The Assist Railing Is Field Welded. This Demonstrates What A Welded Joint Can Look Like, With Touch Up Zinc Paint.
